Panic! At The Disco teilen neuen Song "Death Of A Bachelor", widmen ihn Frank Sinatra

Lange hat der "Tod eines Junggesellen" nicht mehr so gut geklungen: "Death Of A Bachelor" lautet der Titel eines aufregenden neuen Songs von Panic! At The Disco, der in der Show von Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy) bei Apples Beats 1 Premiere feierte. Unten könnt ihr einen Mitschnitt der Song-Premiere hören, bei der P!ATD-Frontmann Brendon Urie auch zum Interview zugeschaltet war und "Death Of A Bachelor" musikalisch als eine Mischung aus: Frank Sinatra und Beyoncé bezeichnete - ein Vergleich, der sich angesichts der Sinatra-esken Gesangsstimme und des progressiven Sounds als enorm zutreffend erweist. 

Im Anschluss an die Premiere teilte Brendon Urie ein Foto von Frank Sinatra auf Instagram und erklärt, wieso der legendäre Entertainer für ihn eine so große Rolle spielt – und dass der neue Song "Death Of A Bachelor" ihm daher besonders am Herzen liegt:

"Seine Musik war ein wesentlicher Bestandteil im Soundtrack meines Lebens. Es ist an der Zeit, dass ich mich revanchiere und / oder in Vorleistung gehe. Ich habe dieses Jahr ein Album geschrieben, und selbst in den wenigen Songs, die nicht zumindest entfernt nach seiner Musik klingen, spüre ich doch den Einfluss beim Schreiben und das Bedürfnis, mich mit jedem Song persönlich zu identifizieren. "Death Of A Bachelor" bedeutet mir eine Menge. Es drückt das bittersüße (aber überwiegend süße) Ende einer Ära aus. Einen Blick zurück auf mein altes Leben. Ein 'It’s A Wonderful Life'-hafter Blick in eine möglicherweise andere Zukunft. Primär jedoch eine Würdigung der Gegenwart."

"Death Of A Bachelor" ist nach dem kürzlich veröffentlichten "Hallelujah" der zweite Vorbote zu besagtem Album, an dem Panic! At The Disco derzeit arbeiten. Das letzte Album "Too Weird To Live, To Rare To Die" erschien 2013.

I attach his music to so many memories: Opening presents on Christmas day, my grandparents teaching the rest of the family to swing dance, watching “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” with my siblings (Sinatra makes a cameo in the form of a cartoon sword singing “Witchcraft”). His music has been a major player in the soundtrack of my life. So it’s only right that I return the favor and/or pay it forward. I wrote a new album this year and even in the few songs that don’t sound remotely similar to any of his music I still felt his influence in the writing and the need to relate so personally to each song. “Death Of A Bachelor” is very important to me. It expresses the bittersweet (but mostly sweet) end of an era. A look back at a part of my life now deceased. An “It’s A Wonderful Life”-esque look into a possibly different future.
