Nostalgischer Ex-Frontmann: Gerard Way teilt Cover-Song "Superstar" aus alten MCR-Zeiten
Gerard Way ist über eine Aufnahme aus vergangenen My-Chemical-Romance-Tagen gestolpert, aus der Zeit von "The Black Parade" (2006). Konkret handelt es sich um ein Cover des Songs "Superstar" von The Carpenters (1971), den er als Warm-Up an dem Tag sang, als er den Album-Track "Cancer" einsang.
"Ich habe mich immer mit The Carpenters aufgewärmt", kommentiert Gerard Way in einem Tweet, und ergänzt: "Es bringt viele Erinnerungen zurück und im Kontext unserer Aufnahme des Albums ist es ziemlich intensiv, wenn man bedenkt, wie schwer es war, BP zu machen." Wie Way weiter verrät, zog die Band sogar kurzzeitig in Erwägung, das Cover mit aufs Album zu nehmen, entschied sich aber schlussendlich dagegen: "Wir hatten schon zu viele Tracks."
