Zum 30. Jahrestag: Whitesnakes "1987" kommt als remasterte und stark erweiterte Edition

1987 veröffentlichen Whitesnake ihr Album "1987" – ein Werk, das mit Songs wie "Still Of The Night", "Give Me All Your Love", "Is This Love" und dem #1-Hit "Here I Go Again" längst ein Rock-Klassiker ist. Zum 30. Geburtstag erscheinen nun am 6. Oktober nicht weniger als vier neue Versionen des Albums, darunter auch ein reichhaltig ausgestattetes Box-Set.

Die "1987" Super Deluxe Edition besteht aus 4 CDs und einer DVD. Sie enthält das Originalalbum in brandneuem remasterten Sound, unveröffentlichte Live- und Studioaufnahmen, Musikvideo-Klassiker, Konzert-Footage und eine 30-minütige Doku, in der es ein aktuelles Interview mit Gründer und Kopf der Band, David Coverdale, zu sehen gibt. Verpackt ist das spektakuläre Paket in Form eines 60-seitigen, gebundenen Buchs mit vielen selten und nie gezeigten Fotos aus jenen Jahren, einem ausführlichen Essay, das auf Interviews mit Coverdale beruht und einem Booklet mit den Songtexten, die Coverdale handschriftlich niedergelegt hat.

Die Super Deluxe Edition ist auch digital erhältlich und kann schon jetzt vorbestellt werden. "Still Of The Night (Live)" gibt es dann als Vorab-Download. Unten hört ihr den Track.

Bei den drei anderen Versionen von "1987" handelt es sich um eine Deluxe Edition (als Doppel-CD oder Doppel-LP) mit dem remasterten Album und einer Auswahl von bisher unveröffentlichten Bonustracks sowie eine Einzel-CD mit dem remasterten Album (ohne Bonuscontent). 

Die Jubiläumsausgabe ist die erste Veröffentlichung vor dem Hintergrund eines frisch unterschriebenen Katalogdeals zwischen Whitesnake und Rhino Entertainment, der Katalogabteilung der Warner Music Group. Der neue Vertrag enthält auch die Rechte für den japanischen und amerikanischen Markt und ermöglicht zum ersten Mal, dass die Substanz des Whitesnake-Katalogs weltweit von der Warner Music Group vertrieben wird.
