Auftritt mit "So Young" bei Seth Meyers und gemeinsamer Song mit Tom Morello

The Man in ihrem Song "So Young", den sie nun in der Late Night Show von Seth Meyers performten. "I don't need to make amends / But I'm done going undercover / I just want to find a friend / I don't need another lover", singt John Gourley in dem schwelgenden Song, in dem neben Gitarre, Bass und Schlagzeug Synthie-, Orgel- und Bläserakzente für einen satten Klang sorgen. Portugal. The Man sind zudem im neuen Song "Every Step That I Take" von Tom Morello zu hören. Der Track befasst sich inhaltlich mit einem wichtigen Thema: Suizidprävention. Im Gefolge des Selbstmordes des Kollegen Chris Cornell im vergangenen Jahr hat sich Morello mit der Organisation SAVE-Suicide Awareness Voices of Education zusammengetan. "With the passing of Chris over a year ago, and the momentum towards removing the stigma from mental health issues and suicidal thoughts, it was very important to have a song from that point of view", kommentiert der Gitarrist von The Prophets of Rage dazu gegenüber dem Chicago Tribune. Den Song hört ihr ebenfalls unten. Im Refrain singt John Gourley: "Every time I move / Every step that I take / Everywhere I look / It's right in front of my face / One foot in the shadows / One foot on the brakes / One foot towards the gallows / Where it's quiet and safe."
