Als Jasmine Thompson vor gut einem Jahr beschloss, eine Pause von der Musik zu machen, war sie sich nicht sicher, ob sie jemals zu ihr zurückkehren würde – diese ehrlichen Worte teilt sie unten im Statement zu ihrer neuen EP "colour". Sie ist seit Freitag erhältlich und der Beweis dafür, dass Jasmine mit ihrem damaligen Gefühl falsch lag, zu ihrer unendlichen Freude und Erleichterung, wie man ihren Zeilen und auch dem Video-Statement anmerkt, das ihr dazu seht. 

Just over a year ago, i left music to take a break because I was in a very bad headspace. A lot of things, i decide not share on social media because to be honest it feels like no one will care. When I quit music, I had no intention of going back, because it felt like there was no way to be happy while doing music. With this EP, i proved myself wrong. I feel so proud of this body of work and I’m just happy that it is now out there. Thank you to everyone who was involved in this EP, because this is now honestly the one thing I am clinging onto by my fingertips. This EP is me and it is such a relief to finally let it go. So I hope I am passing this onto good hands where it can live a life of it’s own.

Der Song reflektiert einiges von dem, was die 18-Jährige oben im Statement anklingen lässt: "Some people think they don't need people / They've been hurt so many times / Some people want to hold your body want to use you for a night / I Don't want you to feel that's all the love you'll get in this life", singt Jasmine, kommt aber im Refrain zu der hoffnungsvollen Feststellung: "Somebody wants you / Somebody cares".
