Gestern Abend wurden in Los Angeles die BET Awards verliehen – die wichtigsten Preise für Black Musik in den USA. Siegreich waren auch eine Reihe von Warner-Künstlern, darunter Cardi B in der Königskategorie "Album of the Year" (überreicht von Anderson .Paak) sowie als "Best Female Hip Hop Artist", Bruno Mars als "R&B/Pop Artist", Burna Boy als "Best International Act", außerdem wurde Nispey Hussle posthum der Preis "Best Male Hip Hop Artist" zuteil – unten seht ihr T.I.’s Laudatio.

Auch das Live-Programm wurde von Warner-Künstlern mitgeprägt: Cardi B eröffnete den Abend gemeinsam mit ihrem Ehemann Offset, zu hören gab es "Clout" und ihre aktuelle Single "Press" in einer imposant choreografierten Performance. Dem stand Lizzo in nichts nach: auf einer XXL-Hochzeitstorte mit einer ganzen Kompanie tanzend und singend, war die Musikerin im weißen Hochzeitsdress gewandet und begeisterte das Publikum mit "Truth Hurts", einem Song ihres aktuellen Albums "Cuz I Love You" – Querflöten-Solo inklusive.
