Im Video zu "Sabotage (feat. CHIKA)" zieht JoJo eine Spur der Verwüstung durch Los Angeles
Kürzlich veröffentlichte JoJo ihre Single "Sabotage", ein Song über selbstzerstörerisches Verhalten in Beziehungen, der nicht nur ELLE beeindruckte, die "Sabotage" auf #5 ihrer "The 50 Best Songs of 2019 (so far)"-Liste führt. Nun hat JoJo das offizielle Video zu dem soulvollen, Hip-Hop-getränkten Stück veröffentlicht.
Das Video, gedreht unter der Regie von James Larese, nimmt die Thematik auf innovative Weise auf: JoJo wandert durch die Straßen von L.A. und singt die Zeilen des Songs. Während sie mit sich und der zerbrochenen Beziehung hadert, zieht sie eine Spur der Verwüstung durch die ganze Stadt. Wo immer sie vorbeikommt, kollabieren ganze Gebäude und visualisieren so auf eindrückliche Weise, wie das Ende einer Beziehung sich oftmals anfühlt: eine Welt bricht zusammen. Gegen Ende des Videos gesellt sich US-Rapperin CHIKA dazu, die auch im Song mitwirkt.

we filmed this in downtown LA, but today I’m in the desert - reflecting and reorienting (reading, journaling, solitude, reiki, soundbath). "Sabotage" bietet ebenso wie das zuvor veröffentlichte "Joanna" einen Ausblick auf das neue Album von JoJo, das 2020 erscheint.
