In der Liebe "Old Wounds" zu öffnen schmerzt, sieht aber im Video zu PVRIS’ Song faszinierend aus

PVRIS haben ein Musikvideo zu "Old Wounds" veröffentlicht, ein Song der jüngst veröffentlichten EP "Hallucinations". Im Mittelpunkt stehen ein Mann und eine Frau, die sich in roten Full-Body-Suits vor kosmischen Hintergrund gegenüberstehen und nach und nach Schichten ihrer Hülle vom Körper ziehen. Dazu singt PVRIS-Frontfrau Lynn Gunn: "They say don't open old wounds / But I want to". Sie selbst steht in einem weiß getünchten Raum, um den Hals lose Ranken aus Efeu, die sich im Video phasenweise enger ziehen, doch am Ende gewinnt die befreiende Einsicht: "Oh, I think I could love you / Think I could love you."

"'Old Wounds’ is actually a love song, written with that full intention from the start", kommentierte Lynn Gunn zuvor gegenüber Rock Sound. "About three years ago, I had a very intense and meaningful relationship with somebody, but things went kind of haywire and our lives went in different directions, and it ended very abruptly. It was just a really weird situation to be in. I was right at the edge of when you’re first starting to fall for somebody, but never got to see it through. And you’re left with that lingering longing for that person. There’s this kind of resolution that you need from them. And that’s where the 'Old Wounds' come in." Als die Person dann kurzzeitig wieder in ihr Leben trat, warnte sie eine Freundin: "'Be careful, don’t open up old wounds, you’ve already been hurt before. You could get hurt again’. That conversation kind of inspired the song". 

In gut zwei Monaten kommen PVRIS für Konzerte nach Deutschland:
