Aufgrund der aktuellen Coronavirus-Situation haben The Magic Gang die Veröffentlichung ihres neuen Albums "Death of the Party" auf den 21. August verschoben. Doch das heißt nicht, dass wir bis dahin ohne neue Musik der fabelhaften Band aus Brighton auskommen müssen. "Take Back The Track" lautet der Titel des jüngsten Songs, der in Begleitung eines äußerst unterhaltsamen Videos kommt. 

Gedreht unter Lockdown-Bedingungen, zeigt es die Band – jeder bei sich daheim – bei einer Online-Probe, die von einem mysteriösen "User1234" gehörig sabotiert wird. Der Clip war das erste Mal, dass die Band in einem ihrer Videos schauspielert, wie Sänger / Bassist Gus Taylor unten im Interview mit BBC Radio 1 erklärt.

Gedreht wurde das Video unter der (Remote-)Regie von Georgina Cammalleri. Keine einfache Angelegenheit: “I knew I wanted to create a narrative for it that would play out entirely on one of the band member’s computer screens”, so Cammalleri. "Directing remotely was intense. The smallest of details had to be thought through. Because of the internet lag, we’d rely on the pace of the track to time their responses. This meant that every move was considered and timed to the second so that it’d all sync up with the rest of the band, as they were all shot separately."
