Die Welt wird morgen noch da sein und "So Will I", versichert Ben Platt in seinem neuen Song
Ben Platt hat einen neuen Song veröffentlicht, der auf der kommenden Deluxe Edition seines Debütalbums "Sing to Me Instead" enthalten sein wird. "So Will I" ist eine emotionale Ballade, wie sie Ben Platt so großartig beherrscht. Über erhebende Klänge bietet er einem Freund oder Partner mit Zukunftsängsten eine starke Schulter: "The world will always be there/And so will I", versichert er. "So Will I" wurde produziert von Finneas, der u.a. als Bruder, Songwriter und Produzent von Billie Eilish bekannt ist. Platt schrieb den Song in der Quarantäne-Zeit, wie er berichtet: "I had the idea for it while I was isolated and knew I wanted to write something that could speak to the moment and bring some comfort, but also a song that could have a life far beyond this time", so Platt, der den Song über FaceTime gemeinsam mit seinem angestammten Kreativpartner Michael Pollack erarbeitete: "When we finished and saw we had something very special, I brought it immediately to Finneas and asked if he might be willing to produce. I knew that not only would he have the musical fortitude to play all the instruments and produce the entire track on his own in isolation, but also that his emotional intelligence would be a perfect match for the song. He elevated it and lifted it without overpowering the lyric and the storytelling. He’s magic."
Die Deluxe Edition von "Sing to Me Instead" erscheint am 20. Mai und wird außerdem Platts im August 2019 veröffentlichte Single "The Rain" sowie Live-Material enthalten, das vergangenes Jahr während seiner ausverkauften Headliner-Show in New Yorks legendärer Radio City Music Hall aufgenommen und für das Konzert-Special Ben Platt Live From Radio City Music Hall gefilmt wurde, das ebenfalls am 20. Mai exklusiv bei Netflix Premiere feiert. Unten gibt es einen Sneak Peek. Im Juni läuft außerdem die zweite Staffel der Serie "The Politician" mit Ben Platt in der Hauptrolle bei Netflix an.
