"Lookin’ for a Leader 2020": Neil Young schreibt seinen Song von 2006 zur Anti-Trump-Version um
Neil Young ist bekanntlich alles andere als ein Freund von Donald Trump. Nun hat der kanadisch-amerikanische Musiker eine neue Live-Version seines – damals an Präsident George W. Bush adressierten –Songs "Lookin’ for a Leader" (2006) veröffentlicht, die den Titel "Lookin’ for a Leader 2020" trägt und ein musikalischer Aufruf ist, mit der Wahl im November endlich wieder einen fähigen Mann ins Weiße Haus zu befördern. "Yeah, we had Barack Obama", blickt Young auf bessere Zeiten zurück, "and we really need him now/The man who stood behind him has to take his place somehow/America has a leader building walls around our house/He don’t know black lives matter and we got to vote him out."
Die neue Version von "Lookin’ for a Leader" war Teil einer jüngsten, politisch aufgeladenen Fireside Session von Neil Young, die außerdem die Songs “Ohio”, “Southern Man,” “Alabama” und ein Cover von Bob Dylans “The Times They Are-a Changin'” umfasste.
