Bin ich "Good Enough"?, fragt sich Carlie Hanson und spricht mit ihrem neuen Song ein wichtiges Thema an

In ihrem neuen Song "Good Enough" beschäftigt sich Carlie Hanson mit einem Thema, das zugleich sehr persönlich und gesellschaftlich wichtig ist: Depression. "I don't think I'll ever be good enough / Voices in my head wish I could turn 'em off", singt die 20-Jährige über eine rauschend schöne Upbeat-Produktion von Mitch Allan und Anthony Jones, und bittet inständig: "Don't you leave me alone / Won't you carry me home". 

Glücklicherweise fand Carlie am Ende wieder aus dem düsteren Tal hinaus, wie sie schildert: "I wrote ‘Good Enough’ during one of the darkest periods of my life. My relationship was fizzling, I missed being with my family and friends, and at the time I was on a prescription medication that was really negatively affecting me. It was hard for me to find a reason to get up in the morning... I just felt so lonely and hopeless. Never leaving my apartment, smoking from morning to night trying to numb my rising anxiety. I shut the whole world out because I felt so lost, hardly ever understanding my own feelings", schildert sie. "Fortunately, I was able to find my way out of this depression and push forward by writing about it and coming to terms with my mental health.  I also have to credit my family and friends for always guiding me in the right direction."

Das kann man jedem Betroffenen nur ebenfalls wünschen: Unterstützung durch Familie und Freunde in einer solch schwierigen Phase. Mit ihrem Song leistet Carlie Hanson jedenfalls einen wichtigen Beitrag dazu, das Thema Depression gesellschaftlich zu enttabuisieren. Unten gibt es das Lyric Video zu dem Song zu sehen.
