Am 23.10. kommt "Smith & Myers Volume 2", vorab gibt es dieses Billie-Eilish-Cover
Smith & Myers are on fire! Das kommende Debütalbum "Smith & Myers Volume 1" ist noch nicht einmal erschienen (9. Oktober), da kündigen die beiden Freunde und Shinedown-Bandkollegen Brent Smith und Zach Myers bereits den Nachfolger an. "Smith & Myers Volume 2" erscheint nur wenige Wochen später, am 23. Oktober, und begleitend zur Ankündigung gibt es daraus zwei Songs: den eigenen neuen Track "Bad At Love" – ein sehr verletzlicher und persönlicher Song über eine problematische Liebesbeziehung – und "Bad Guy", ein Cover von Billie Eilishs Song. Beide Tracks kann man unten hören, "Bad At Love" in Form eines offiziellen Musikvideos.
"Smith & Myers Volume 2" enthält insgesamt fünf neue Songs und fünf neu interpretierte Versionen von Songs, die Fans gern von Smith & Meyers gecovert haben wollten. Neben. "Bad Guy" sind dies Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back In Anger", Peter Gabriels “Sledgehammer”, Billy Idols “Rebel Yell” und R.E.M.s “Losing My Religion”. "Smith & Myers Volume 2" erscheint als CD, 180g Doppel-LP (die Vol. 1&2) in einem Paket vereint) sowie digital und kann jetzt vorbestellen werden.
“‘Bad At Love’ was one of the very first original songs to be written for the project. I think ultimately the song was born from my own romantic relationships", kommentiert Brent. "When I love someone, I love them fully, and sometimes the passion can be too much. I always know when it’s time to move on. That being said, I am extremely grateful that I am still very good friends with the ladies I have loved, and still love, to this day.”
Zach ergänzt: “‘Bad at Love’ was one of the first original songs we wrote for this album ... lyrically Brent was writing about things in his life that maybe we wouldn’t really touch on with Shinedown and I think it came out to be an incredibly naked and honest song. And I think ‘Bad Guy’ turned out very cool – it’s a nice bluesy version of the song.”
