Nachdem Bryce Vine vergangenes Jahr seine Lockdown-EP "Problems" veröffentlichte, in der er passende Gedanken zur aktuellen Zeit und ihrer Auswirkung auf persönliche Gefühle und Beziehungen verarbeitete, hat der kalifornische Sänger, Songwriter, Producer und Rapper nun seinen neuen Song am Start. "Care At All" heißt er – und macht deutlich: auch in der Zeit nach seiner "Problems"-EP hatte er (zu viel) Zeit zum Nachdenken. So wie wir alle eben, schließlich gehen wir kaum noch unter Leute und kreisen damit zwangsläufig viel um uns selbst.

Konkret beschäftigt sich Vine in "Care At All" mit einer vergangenen Beziehung, die ihm mächtig zusetzt: "I’ve been drinking 'bout you too much lately / Overthinking, I hope I'm not crazy". Daher flüchtet sich Bryce in Ablenkung: "If I don't pick up the phone, you know I'm probably wasted / Someone taking me home 'cause I ain't sleeping alone", singt er Musiker mit sehnsuchtsvoller Stimme über einen atmosphärischen Beat.

“This is a song about the heartbreak of losing someone”, erklärt Bryce Vine. “It’s going through all the ways you try to get them off your mind, but nothing is working. It’s a pretty depressing concept so I wanted to keep the vibe fun and energetic. I kept thinking about the song 'Where Is My Mind' by The Pixies and tapping into that energy - like if they remade Fight Club in 2021, this song could be playing at the end as the buildings are blowing up.”
