"Why does it hurt so much / When you know it's the right thing? / Why do I crave your touch? I hate love in the Notebook light/ It's complicated is more like what happened, so you can keep Gosling and I'll keep Steve Martin".

Kelly Clarkson kommentiert: "The amazing banjo skills you hear on this is brought to you by the one and only Steve Martin! I’d choose Martin over Gosling every time y’all!”

"i hate love" ist nach der Doppel-Single "mine" / "me" im April und "favorite kind of high" im Mai der nächste Vorbote des zehnten Studioalbums "chemistry" von Kelly Clarkson, das am 23. Juni erscheint.
