Zwei neue Songs des kommenden Debütalbums: Hier "You Signed Up For This" und "Brooklyn" hören

Maisie Peters ist in Geberlaune und hat gleich zwei Songs ihres kommenden Debütalbums veröffentlicht: den Titeltrack "You Signed Up For This" und "Brooklyn". Unten kann man beide Stücke hören, in denen die Singer-Songwriterin einmal von Liebesdingen singt ("Shout if you want my heart / It is an open invitation") und sich zum anderen an die ersten Ferien mit ihrer Zwillingsschwester zurückerinnert ("Sleep on the last bus / What happened in Harlem? / Don't even ask us“).

Im Post unten kommentiert die Britin: "ysuft was the last song we wrote on that trip with joe and i remember i sang that first verse as a joke kind of and then we were like fuck it we’ll keep it and i played piano really emotionally at midnight lols. then brooklyn i wrote with frances in this country barn airb&b we turned into a makeshift studio and i used to dance around the rooms and drink bad iced coffees listening to it in my earphones before they were THE earphones."

Das Album "You Signed Up For This" erscheint am 27. August über Ed Sheerans Label Gingerbread Man Records. Über den Verlauf von insgesamt 14 Songs nimmt uns Maisie mit in ihre Welt, während sie sich von der Kleinstadt-Teenagerin zur Erwachsenen entwickelt.  "You Signed Up For This“ ist sowohl Maisies persönliche Coming-of-Age-Geschichte als auch ein Liebesbrief an die Jugendzeit, getragen von ihrem herausragenden Talent, alltägliche Erfahrungen in lebendig geschriebene, tagebuchartige Songs zu verwandeln.

Von Apple Music ist Maisie Peters außerdem zum "Next Artist" für den August auserkoren worden, was unter anderem mit einer eigens gedrehten Doku einhergeht, die man bei dem Streaming-Service ansehen kann.
