Mit ihrer Kollaboration sind Crooked Colours, Masked Wolf und Jasiah "Light Years" weit vorn

"She don't want a rainbow, I gave her crooked colours" – die Zeile ist nur eine von vielen intelligenten Wortspielen, die Masked Wolf in "Light Years" vom Stapel lässt, der neuen Single eben dieser Crooked Colours, in der neben den australischen Musikern außerdem der virale Rapper Jasiah aus Dayton, Ohio mitwirkt. "Movin' too fast, speed of light, yeah", rappt Masked Wolf im Refrain des Songs, und tatsächlich ist "Light Years" weit vorn, von Crooked Colours' stimmungsvoller Produktion bis hin zu den mühelosen Flows von Masked Wolf und Jasiah.

Einzig das Musikvideo ist eher ein Blick zurück, denn im Mittelpunkt steht eine gebrannte CD mit den Beats zu "Light Years", die Masked Wolf und Jasiah zufällig in die Hände bekommen, nachdem Crooked Colours sie für nicht gut befunden und aus dem Fenster geworfen haben. We had this beat and new instantly Masked Wolf would be a perfect fit. We connected with Jasiah and he added so much energy to the track. The song encapsulates the feeling of life moving too fast and looking forward rather than being present and living in the moment.” Masked Wolf berichtet: "My manager sent me a beat from Crooked Colours and within 1 hour I had a chorus and verse sent back to them. It’s just one of those feel good songs no matter where you are you can plug in some headphones and be in a world of happiness listening to it."
